A quick blog post in between updates of the site, with photos of the site as it was, that lots of people may not have seen before building work began on the site.
Here is a view across the west side of the site (as it was) which had stood disused since 2000. This is now the area occupied by the store and it's car park.
One of the old lights standing tall above the regeneration area in 2009.
Taken early November 2010, this photo is again of the Tesco side of the site, which looked a bit of a mess as work on clearing the site was about to begin.
Above, is a view looking east across the site, a view that looks a lot different now.
Looking in a northerly direction in october 2010 across the area which the structure of the Tesco store now sits on.
The photo above was taken looking through the glass in the door of the disused youth centre.
This photo, taken in '08, is looking in a northerly direction through what is now the delivery gate. The area in front of me is what will be the car park and fuel station, with the Tesco store off to the left hand side.
Looking into the overgrown west side of the site, disused since 2000, this is now part of the Tesco store area.
The photo above was taken looking south along the Underfleet car park at the area of the site where the store is.
