January 2011

This series of photos were taken around the site as work has finally begun, preparing for the infill process which should begin very soon.

The photo below was taken on my iphone outside the site, where you can see containers have appeared on site ready for the first stage of work to begin.

The view below is where the holiday camp restaurant/swimming pool and gym once stood, as you can see excavations have taken place here.
The photo below shows the area that will be where the Tesco store will stand once all of the work is complete. To the left of the photo is a vehicle which seems to have tipped to one side on the very uneven surface!
The photo below shows the access road to the play group, which has now closed in order to allow infill work to progress. All of the perimeter fences have been taken down now, so you get a bigger scale of the whole area.

Photographs Taken November 2010

These photos are of the site itself and also of some of the buildings that will be demolished in December 2010 to make way for the regeneration work.
Some of the photos are best viewed bigger by clicking on them.

The photo below is the part of the site where the Tesco supermarket will be built.

The photo below is where the pedestrian entrance will be to the development, according to the plans, as the youth centre and toilet block (in photo) will be demolished in december 2010, to make way.

Photographs Taken October 2010

This series of photos were taken when the site looked in a right mess! At this stage it is being prepared for the infill process which has been given the green light to begin in January 2011.

Photographs Taken April 2010

You can see by looking at these photos, that the landscape is looking very barren and overgrown.
